  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Maintenance Apprenticeship................... We should be doing all the maintenance tasks on the machinery but instead we just get put in as man power for most of the week and odd opportunity comes up to do some cleaning on the machines, all the maintenance will be doing by the vendors, we have been promised training multiple times but always seems to get cancelled at the last minute because our boss never pays for it. Very disheartening to say we are the up and coming generation

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • we have been given a lot of certificates very quickly, but all seemed to be rushed and there are some tasks in the workplace on the shop floor which i will need a skilled guy next to me, this is why we still need the extra training out of house to boost our confidence levels

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i enjoy having a laugh with the lads at work that's about it. not very we feel like we have just been left to fend for ourselves we never see our boss and when we do every 6 months we tell him all the problems that we are having and nothing ever seems to come out of it and we never get any feedback to things being sorted out. all of the other factories with apprentices seem to be getting everything that they need because they are actually based with the manager, but all the apprentices at EMC can say that they have had the worst apprenticeship ever even if you speak to the guys on the shop floor they all same what a bad apprenticeship there is never any communication to us at all. makes me so angry everyday that there are so many problems and nobody is there to sort them out This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticehsip Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions
