  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Travelling to different sites, from hospitals to vets to maintain, install and repair x-ray machines and equipment. I usually work with my mentor and learn on the job around the north west. It is really fun meeting new people and going to different places everyday.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I learn new skills everyday and i am constantly bettering myself and abilities throughout this apprenticeship. I go to Stegta to complete my engineering fundamental skills and i also complete web based and on hands training in Germany at the Siemens healthineers HQ

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I absolutely love my job and look forward to progressing with Siemens. I have previously completed an apprenticeship so knowing what others are like, this programme is the best around. The team that i work with are all very friendly and we all get along great too.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well planned out for me and i know every step of my apprenticeship from start to finish. If i am every unsure about anything then my manager, training provider and anyone from siemens healthineers are there to help and listen which is really suppportive.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive support from everyone at Siemens Healthineers and i can chat to them about anything which is on my mind. I am encouraged to ask anything if im unsure so that i am not left in the dark.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive support with my qualifications and i also can get every time if needed to complete work however this isnt needed as i get more than enough time. I have also been offered to further my qualifications with Siemens which is amazing.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualifications help me better in my role because with Stegta being an engineering training provider, they help you get the training and experience in at the training centre which puts you a step ahead before getting out in the field.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have loads of social events to attend to in the summer and winter. We bond with the engineering team and other apprentices at forums and were even doing a fundraising event by climbing Helvellyn in the dark which is cool!

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because there a great company to work for and have lots of benefits that come with the job. To enter this job at a early age would be amazing and im very jealous of people being able to enter such a great company at there early stages of there career.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens Healthineers?
  • Make sure that your CV is the best it can be and learn about the company before applying, there a huge company with lots of different products and services so they can offer alot. Present yourself well and if your friendly and willing to learn then this is the job for you.
