As a Work Experience student, I sat in four different departments. Mostly, it was legal research which was really useful as I shall be carrying it with me to my future job. Today, I also helped sort out some documents, make amendments and look for limits in a document.
I have learnt more about professional conduct. I have also realise that I am prone to make mistakes and may miss some information as I read. As that is a skill I will definitely use as a lawyer, this experience was really helpful in flagging up this flaw for me to fix.
I really enjoyed the programme. I have learnt a great deal, things that I will carry me with into the future. Moreover the staff we have worked with have been so friendly. They are always so happy to help, even if I have asked them one too many times, they have never made me feel like a pest. The experience has exceeded my expectations, having been on placements before, I was expecting group work with bouts of administrative tasks (such as filing) however the tasks set by our trainees were really useful.
I feel very valued. As aforementioned, the trainees were always happy to help with whatever, whenever. Moreover, they often checked in to check on us. They also always came back to discuss the tasks irrespective of how busy they were, so it never felt like we were doing something just for the sake of it. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] The staff generally are really polite and accommodating, always willing to have a conversation and offer advice.
The programme was really structured, the TT was made really early. It was nice that the trainees had arranged for us and them to have a chat before getting on with the work upon first meeting. Though we did not know that lunch was being provided daily, which could have saved us money so that is something the firm needs to flag up.
The trainees were outstandingly helpful. Once I went up to my trainee 3 times in the space of 10 minutes but they did not once make it seem as though I was being a nuisance. My adviser too, has always been reachable by mail, replying as soon as possible which is nice. So trainees and my adviser have all offered a lot of support.

The company has many clubs, and is partnered with a charity. I, of course, do not have first hand experience with this.
Yes
Pinsent Masons' staff are all really friendly creating a nice environment to work in. They are also super helpful which is useful to a newbie and helps them fit in. Moreover the firm itself has a strong vision accompanied with methods to achieve their aims. You can have a goal and a ball but no kick. PM has all. It is expanding it bases worldwide too which is exciting. Also, the pay is good (...so I've heard).
1) Never be too afraid to ask, really. The staff here are more than willing to answer even the smallest questions. 2) Ask to extend your time here.
