  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I make sure that all the teachers and staff in my placement are able to use their computers without any issues. If an issue arise I am there to solve it, I am there to advise on the new technology that the school could get and I could set it up for the school.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy learning new things, whether it’s through my placement or the apprenticeship programme and courses that I will be provided with. I really enjoyed the workshops that we had, I was able to discuss my journey and my IT experience with people like me that are as passionate as I am.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I am not a big fan of the software that we use, which is smart assessor, if you ask me I think it’s a little out dated and quite complex to understand and first and when you have used it for a while, but apart from that the programme is structured very well.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get more than enough help from my employer, they are always there to support me whether it’s my manager or the head teacher or my colleagues, everyone is there to support me and I can support them with my skills, to make sure when they have an issue I can solve it for them. I absolutely love my workplace.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I get so much support from my tutor but I would prefer to get more workbooks, courses and workshops, most of my current knowledge that I have learnt is through research and educational videos from the internet and some help from the external technicians that I shadow from time to time.
