  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently I'm working on a project to provide cloud services to different clients of Capgmeini. I will be supporting the clients once the environment has been built. On a day to day basis, I'm constructing documents for the future customers that wish to join the environment we provide. Furthermore, I'm aiding in bringing the environment up.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learned a lot/developed more new skills since I've started from appropriate communication methods to time management. These have all helped me to meet my objectives effectively.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the training provided and the real world experience that you get at the same time. The mix of both is the best part.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Capgemini?
  • I feel really valued by Capgemini, and fell my input counts towards the end output.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that the programme itself is well organised with regular meetings to see our progress. The coursework provided as part of the apprenticeship isn't well written and some what pointless for people who have already completed similar activities.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The support provided by the training provider is very minimal. The assessor provided is excellent and provides support via email but no guidance is given on how to approach the coursework.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a huge amount of support from my employer including regular weekly meetings for progress checks

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary provided is excellent for an apprentice. I feel that apprentices with more qualifications or experience are treated the same which I feel should be changed.

    8/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I've never been approached with opportunities outside work. There are opportunities to help with charity events.

    6/10

  • 9. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Overall the apprenticeship is excellent but I feel that apprentices that have gone through similar training should be able to 'skip' the coursework options as its wasting the apprentices time when they could be spending time actually inputting further into the projects output their on. The program managers are excellent and always provide support if required. The training provided at the start is excellent.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • My advice to future GAP’s would be to have fun at ALE but get stuck in and get the most out it.
