• 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I tend to put stock away, process goods in, serve at the counter, look after pricing for customers, prepare quotes, as a part of this apprenticeship I have also learn how to drive a FLT and spent time out in the yard.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed massively on a personal level and gained loads of new experience in trade as well as obtaining a fork lift licence. My organisational skills have improved as well throughout my apprenticeship as I had to plan ahead in order to hit deadlines on time.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I like learning new things so being on this programme has definitely filled that void. I have gained an immense amount of knowledge, regarding the trade as well as procedures within the branch, I would recommend this course to anyone that is new to trade

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well! Thanks to my mentor guiding me throughout it all and always being there to help. The programme was structured well into modules and broken down so that it was easy to follow. We had monthly webinars to discuss what we have done as well as the next module

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Once the employer understood how time consuming the course was "on the job learning" I was allocated time to work from home in order to hit my deadlines as well as stay on track.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider was beyond helpful every step of the way and was easy to get a hold of so she was always an email or phone call away.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • When I started I knew nothing about my role, compared to where I am now I have came a LONG way. Thanks to completing this I am able to do my job better due to the amount of knowledge I have gained throughout this apprenticeship.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • n/a
