Produce reports using Excel, SAP and Oracle, detailing information on product profitability, promotion effectiveness, returns on investments, trackers, and forecasting.
Yes, I have developed many new skills in Microsoft Excel, SAP and Oracle. I also have learnt a lot about the Finance function and how people's roles interact with each other. I have learnt about how the business gets the product to market and the implications this has on the finances. I have also learnt how to hold meetings, communicate and overall act in a professional business manner.
I am thoroughly enjoying my programme because it has helped me to learn many new skills and develop existing skills. I would find my programme more enjoyable however if there was another apprentice in my team so that we could support each other and work together.
I feel valued by Fujitsu within my direct team however I'm not sure how many people in the outer Finance function actually know who I am, which business area I report for and which team I belong to.
There is little intervention from my learner provider (BPP) in terms of structure and I feel this is a drawback to my apprenticeship. I have personally had to create my own structure and plan for my 2 year apprenticeship in terms of when I will be doing exams and assignments and this has been with no help from any of my managers/assessors.
I receive some support in terms of marking my assignments and questions I have with certain aspects of my assignments but I would say that there could be more guidance and support from the training provider.
I receive an adequate level of support from Fujitsu and there is always someone on hand to help me. I am pleased with the support I receive at work.
My salary meets my costs however I live at home and so I don't have that many expenses personally. I have however spoken to apprentices of the same level, age and qualification that are being paid a substantial amount higher.
There are many opportunities to outside of work including business updates, quiz nights, exercise classes and charity events.
Yes
Fujitsu are a great company to work for as they provide fantastic support and are always working towards improvements. A key aspect of working for Fujitsu is involvement in corporate social responsibility which I think is one of Fujitsu's strongest areas.
The interview is tough with difficult questions and so I would advise that a substantial amount of research and preparation is made beforehand. Think of questions they might ask you and prepare for what you want to say and what kind of message you want to put across. You should also ensure you know a bit of background knowledge about what Fujitsu do as a company.
