Chef in a family pub. Cook food that is ordered.
Learnt everything I know to date, how to work on all four sections of the kitchen and continuing to develop front of house skills.
I have enjoyed it more and more as I gain confidence. My lack of confidence put a limit on what I could do in the kitchen, however with experience comes confidence and I’m enjoying it more than ever before.
Because of the COVID pandemic, my programme was a little bit scattered, however my tutor was great at staying in contact and keeping me updated on the new situations.
My employers have supported me throughout my journey, teaching me everything I’ve learnt and supporting me throughout the struggles of my confidence and anxiety. I couldn’t have asked for better employers.
My trainer often sent me extra packs of information and mock exams to help me through my course. As well as keeping me enthusiastic when I failed or scored lowly on something, he helped me to gather the confidence to give good second and third attempts.
My qualification helps me perform better at work because they gives me the comfort of knowing that I can do my job, and that I can have confidence in what I do.
I don’t involve myself in these kind of things, so I’m not sure
Yes
The company supported us throughout furlough, as well as people getting recognised for hard work and rewarded for such, which you don’t see much at big companies. It feels like they appreciate us more than previous companies I have worked for.
Research the history of the company before hand, look at what services and companies we provide. It’s a more laid back company, and great to work for.
