I am currently in my first year of an engineering apprenticeship doing 3 month secondments in each manufacturing department. My daily tasks can involve anything from machining parts manually or manufacturing parts on a CNC machine to checking parts for quality and tolerance.
Yes, I learn new skills everyday. The people I work with are all very experienced and knowledgeable so its easy to learn from them.
I am enjoying it very much due to the large variety of activities I get to do on a day to day basis.
I started in September 2014 and already feel like part of the team, everyone is very helpful and welcoming.
I am doing 3 month secondments in each department which is a very good structure because I get to experience everything in my first year.
If I have any trouble with anything my training provider is very useful and gives me support when I need it.
My employer supports me whenever I need it, the HR department are very useful.
My salary meets my costs, travelling to work is my biggest expense.
The company have many sporting, charity and family events outside of work that are very popular.

The company is a great starting point for any engineer, there is a lot to learn from the workers at AMG HPP.
