  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job role involves making sure the team is where they should be, any complaints are dealt with, also opening up and closing the pub taking in and counting the tills I also make sure that the kitchen is left in a high standard of what it should be left as.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed on gaining my confidence to take complaints off the customers gaining trust with other colleagues as they come to me with either questions about a certain product or help to talk to a customer, being able to jump on an area to help other colleagues at the time.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed my program as it gave me more knowledge of the the promotion I have just entered as team leader, I’ve improved on skills that I have already got, i have gained more confidence from the course I just did I have recommended the course to a colleague

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is organised really well they sit down with you and go though the stages of your course, what bits are easy and what bits are difficult, they work it out with you to see when you will complete the course you are doing if you have problems there is a site to help you.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is always there to help, all my colleagues who have done the course and completed it before me has always sat down with me and helped me on anything I have been stuck on, my general manager has always helped me by getting data I need for a certain project.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a lot of support either if it’s face to face or a remote session, if I am stuck on a certain chapter I can just give them a text message and they reply instantly with any help they can give, or if I need some more information from them.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think it helps me as I have had a promotion to team leader this helped me on extra skills I need or any skills I needed to work on, they have helped me gain confidence and listening skills and more responsibilities as a team leader, even if I’m still learning now.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes for Christmas for example I am the Christmas champion I sort out Christmas bookings and any events coming up like farthers day Mother’s Day I promote on our social media plat forms and make any advertisement in the pub it’s self and making leaflets in the pub.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a brilliant company to work for, even through a pandemic for COVID, they talked to us through every steep they didn’t leave us in the dark they told us what plans they had and any update we had about our pay regarding furlough and our holidays we had left


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • The advice I have would be to not give up your colleagues will always be there to help you in anyway if you have a problem with one of your shifts talk to your general manager, if you have a complaint talking to Greene king hr they will be happy to help
