  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Providing first and second line support for customers in the council. Also working on the IT Servicedesk answer calls and providing over the phone support. Also going into the office when repaired to build machines for orders and helping customers with hardware issues & logging calls with thrid party suppliers. j

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned new skills to improve my overall communications for customers. I have also learned how to use new software to recording installing using the screen recording software. Also i have increased my knowledge of coding and programing and basic problem solving skills, so i can become a more productive member of the team

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed the apprenticeship that i have done, i have learned new skills and increased my self knowledge. While increasing my own skills in self teaching, researching and my ability to complete work to a deadline, while learning how to correctly prepare for exams that i am sitting on this course

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The course is very well structured, the portfolio was divided up into certain areas with a clear breakdown of what work expected to meet all the citrea. when it came to exams the different courses that were put forward provided information to learn, and the mock exams that were provided helped and the individual learning sessions also helped

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I Recieved lots of support from my employer they ranged from making sure that i had a dedicated day for me to concentrate on all off my work, this meant that i could concentrate on meeting all of deadlines and i also allowed time to revise and take the exams needed to pass the course

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I Recieved lots of support from my Training provider, when i needed extra help is was provied. they ranged from making sure that i had a dedicated day for me to concentrate on all off my work, this meant that i could concentrate on meeting all of deadlines and i also allowed time to revise and take the exams needed to pass the course

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Through learning the different pieces of infromation i have increased my own self knowledge of how key operating systems such as windows and MacOS works. In addition i have learned how to better communicate with customer and collogues. finally i have a much better understanding how & why my company's H&S policy's are set up

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

  • 9a. Would you recommend East Riding Council to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommand this to people as a first port of call for people who have either recently left school to have a job in IT. or people who have just joined our team and this there first job in IT. it will provide the basic IT knowledge that they require.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to East Riding Council?
  • be aware that some of the other courses which are sent such as the comptia A+ awards may not 100% relent for their job, but it will provide the unpinning knowledge for them to advance their career in IT. Also it help learn about the different procedures that our company have
