  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well organised. From the day I started at my company I was told where I would be going for each placement and how long each placement would last. On top of this, the learning plans outlined for each objective I work towards provide excellent clarification on how I can achieve them.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Throughout the time it has taken me to complete my qualification, I have received fair support from the training provider (QA). This showed when I managed to gain my qualification. • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes. Within my job, there is plenty of opportunity to partake in extra-curricular activities. For example, you could sign up to be a STEM ambassador and travel to affiliated schools and businesses to deliver talks and give knowledge on the job you are doing. Also, doing this apprenticeship means you go on a week long outward bound course.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I couldn't have asked for a better experience in an apprenticeship. The knowledge and skills you gain are priceless for the career you could have in the future. The company makes you and your work feel valued and appreciated, which really serves as a great motivator to come in every day and give 100%.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Give as much detail as possible when filling out any application forms. You want to stand out to those reviewing them and selecting applicants. This will give you the best chance of getting to a real life interview/assessment day. Make sure when going to an event like this you gain knowledge of the company going into it as they may ask you questions about it.
