  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day-to-day duties consist of a lot of data collection, working across different brands to support their marketing decisions and interacting with stakeholders every single day. Lot's of learning alongside my daily duties.

    8/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My learning has skyrocketed since I started. Still a long way to go but there are many different avenues to choose from, the degree has really supported my performance at work as well.

    9/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have a great team and a great manager who wants me to excel and constantly supports my goals. We communicate really well and it has been pivotal in my enjoyment of the programme. Degree wise I have already made good friends and receiving great marks in my assignments.

    8/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • So far so good, PCL have been really clear on what we need to accomplish over our programme, but there is room in our job to be self directed and motivated as you learn about different data platforms, brands and business objectives. I can rely on my team to provide support in tasks I'm struggling with and we constantly assess how I'm doing. My monthly check-ins with my director also help to keep me on track, as well as the quarterly reviews with my manager and apprentice mentor.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Really supportive, great communication and transparent. L'Oreal makes me feel like they want to invest in me and my future career there.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Probably would receive more support when we finally are able to study face to face, its definitely challenge to work away from campus on reports and exams, but the online seminars have so far been successful and when need I could find support from the pastoral support.

    7/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My assignments are all related to my job role, and it has been essential in accelerating my deeper knowledge of the business. I still lack a lot of the technical skills to excel in the data analysis and marketing effectiveness components on my role.

    7/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • L'Oreal regularly schedule talks with influential speakers, our manager also organised an evening for us to paint and socialise altogether. Would love to spend more time with all of my team a bit more now covid restrictions are easing.

    6/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend L'Oreal to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Yes with one caveat, it's a great opportunity and you learn a lot, but the salary is low. It's significantly lower than very similar degree apprenticeship programmes with Pearson College. Living in London is very expensive and ultimately you need to work two jobs to support yourself.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to L'Oreal?
  • Your communication skills is really important, make sure your presentations are clear and concise, read up about L'Oreal and its portfolio and don't be afraid to ask questions as you go.
