  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My typical Monday would in tail firstly I would check my mail and group them in my email folder in order or priority. Then I would have my weekly team meeting where we would discuss the agenda for this week and any on going work streams. After this I would have my Home Care meeting were we would go into detail of the specific budget roles.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned how to mange stakeholder relationships with both marketing and finance. I have learned how you use lots of different systems like SAP, excel Itrack and many more. I have also learned how to be a contributing team member and how to articulate myself in a corporate manner.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed being able to work in a team that had great people culture where everyone was very helpful and supportive on my onboarding. I also loved that I was in a global role and was able to partner many stakeholder and contribute to help land Unilever's P&L for 2020.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • From the work aspect the program was organised very well however from the study side it was organised poorly in my experience as half way through the apprenticeship I found out i was exempt from the program when I was completely transparent from day one.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My team was very supportive with my work and scheduling weekly catch up so I can go through the agenda for my week so I am never drowned of work and can get up to speed with the current business circumstances.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I would say this was very limited you would just work through the online modules revise and take the exams.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe the qualification gives you good general management accounting knowledge for you to see how this goes with your work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • So before the pre covid world there use to be apprentice drink you could get involved in and team drinks.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Overall my experience at Unilever has been a good one, the people are great and very supportive when you are onboarding at the company. In addition to this Unilever offers great opportunities to apprentice by giving them reasonability in quite senior roles.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • My advice would be always have a positive attitude towards your work and ask questions if you don't understand a topic.
