  • in college we do both theory and practical, the practical classes cover hand fitting, lathes and assemblies which you need to do paperwork for to complete your log book. the theory covers the NC mechanical where we do maths and physics based subjects.

  • developed practical skills over a variety of activities.

  • the programme gives you a wide range of activities relevant to your discipline. you get to try lots of new things both in the workshop and in the classroom.

  • very well organised as we spend the full first year at college to get a good basic understanding of engineering before going into the base in second year

  • regular reviews with both the employer and college to track my progress. and we have a direct contact in the base if we need help with anything.

  • constant support throughout the year, you can always ask for additional support if needed

  • it will give me an appreciation of engineering which I can transfer into my role.

  • you can get involved in heath and wee being champions as well as STEM activities.

  • research the company before hand and make sure it's the right apprenticeship for you
