  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying the apprenticeship, in the short amount of time I have worked for Cummins I have realised that they trust their employees and even as an apprentice you are given a lot of responsibility very early on which is great. My team and peers are very conscious of my development and are very supportive. Working for two business units has given me great exposure and insight into how different areas of the business operate. Projects and initiatives within the apprentice group ensure that I am getting involved with much more than my day to day role and therefore developing my skills further. Working in a global company I get to speak to people in several countries across the world on a day to day basis which still amazes me as I would never get to do this outside of Cummins.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structured, starting my role working from home was very interesting but everyone is very supportive and approachable. You very much learn on the job, my team are always there to answer any questions I have. My induction was well planned prior to me starting and the Onboarding programme is great it gives you a very good insight into the history of Cummins.

  • I use what I learn in the classroom on a day to day basis, areas such as employee engagement and recruitment link in to my day to day role and projects I am involved with and it gives me a good understanding of HR's position in an organisation.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The culture is great, everyone is so supportive. There are masses of opportunities within the organisation. I am enjoying my time at Cummins.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cummins?
  • After I applied to the role I had a 4 stage interview process which included a competence assessment, which was all done virtually via zoom due to the current climate. It was a really good experience with members of the team I actually joined. Just be yourself and do your research on Cummins. The Onboarding process is very informative and you learn lots about the history of the company.
