  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme as it allows me to develop my interpersonal skills, as this is something i found difficult whilst in further education. I mostly enjoy working along side a team who has a great experience so are able to offer me advice on how to get my name out to a wider audience and take on challenges. I do feel as though Cummins values their apprentices work efforts and offers them the best opportunities that are currently available.

  • Overall, i feel as though i am offered a larger amount of support from my intermediate team as well as other employees/ management. They are always trying to give us valuable insight to the tasks and challenges of working for a large organisation but better yet network across all different fields within Cummins. • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel as though completing Business Administration ensures that I am complete administrative tasks to the highest quality, it also ensures i have a thorough understanding of my organisation and how it works to effectively provide customers with the best product and service. It has gave me ample opportunity to research into different business units and the functions with the organisation which has ultimately made me carry out my own role more effectively and with the customer in mind.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There isn't any activities that i personally am involved in within my organisation however my workplace offers lots of opportunities such as the cycle to work scheme, and often organises fundraisers and charity events. Cummins has a charity scheme which means all employees should complete a minimum of 4 hours of charitable work, this time is paid for by the company and often focuses on local organisations and improving the community. I often join webinars which advise and consult on current immigration matter and changes that are happening within the UK/EU that may affect my day to day job roles.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Cummins to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Cummins to a friend because it is a company which works on improving their workforce and supporting self development which is important. They have great values and a company mission which is what all employees strive towards, they have good schemes for employees and a great support from peers, HR, and managerial roles. They employees to develop and move around the business which means that you can share your skills whilst learning and growing your own set of transferrable skills.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cummins?
  • I would suggest becoming familiar with Cummins values and mission, as this is something managers are interested in when employing someone. They would like to employ people who are eager to learn and work within a team of people, as well as being organised and independent in their work. Whilst working from home they need employees who are able to complete the work to a high standard and keep the customers satisfied. If there was a set of advice i would offer to someone it network amongst other teams and maintain a strong interest in all different functions of the business as this will help you in the long run.
