My role is to provide admin support to my department. This includes sending emails to our learners, filing paperwork for each learner and chasing paperwork from learners and managers. I also provide admin support for different events we take part in such as national apprenticeship week and learning at work week.
I have learnt how to write professional emails as I didn't know how to do this before my apprenticeship. I learnt how to use Microsoft excel and how to make tables, designs and use formulas. I learnt about different the features in outlook that I hadn't used before.
I really enjoyed my programme. I learnt many new things that I am able to do in my current role but also future roles. The transferable skills that I have learnt will be very useful in any role that I pursue in the future. It was an enjoyable programme to be on and I would definitely recommend others to undertake this course.
My programme was very structured, I knew what I needed to hand in and on what date due to the ePortfolio system that my training provider used. All my reviews were pre-planned and put in the diary at the start of my programme and I was able to contact my assessor at any time with questions.
I received full support from my employer. I was always able to take off study leave to complete my study days and my manager always made time for me to do my manager reviews. My employer was always able to provide witness statements and feedback for any of my units.
I receive full support from my training provider as they were always available for me to contact if I had any questions and would get back to me within 7 days of me asking for help. They were always super helpful when I did need help and also had meetings with me if I needed to discuss things further.
Everything that I do in my role and are Carisbrooke if doing are things I learnt from my teaching provider. Everything that i need to do with my role are things that I have learnt from my qualification and the units that I needed to complete. Without my qualification I would struggle with knowing how to complete different tasks pertaining to my job role.
My organisation provides many extracurricular activities for all staff to take part in. They provide fitness classes, floristry classes, mental wellbeing classes such as mindfulness as well as social activities. It is available to all staff within my organisation and there are many sessions of each so if people miss a session there is always another session that they can do instead for that class.
Yes
I would recommend the NHS because it is a big organisation that have many opportunities for its staff including and extracurricular activities. They have been an excellent employerfor me during my apprenticeship and in my future career path. They support their staff always to be able to complete their apprenticeship.
Advice I would give would be to look into all opportunities that are available and go for them without hesitation because you can get a lot of experience and training from this that you can use in the next stages of your NHS career, future and other career paths outside of the NHS.
