  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The day to day of my apprenticeship it split into two parts, patch work and learning centre, with block of three week on each before switching over. At the centre we learn both practical and theory skilled needed to become a gas engineer. On the patch, along with my mentor, i go into customer homes and practice these skills

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • on the whole, it has been fairly well organised and structured, especially considering we started the same time that COVID hit too. There have been some issue with some of the technologies that have been used, but they have worked hard to over come a solve these issues as they have come up.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Considering the size of the company, we have been supported fairly well. This manly comes from the trainers and the mentors that we have been given. However i do feel there is a disconnect between the apprentices and the higher management, there is no 'head of apprentices' which can make it hard to raise issues.
