My current role involves engineering projects, such as planning and scheduling maintenance for mechanical assets. Also involves planning work for the central engineering shops.
Yes I have developed and learned many new skills while working there, such as -presentation skills -planning and schedule skills -hands on skills -various component software packages skills -communicate skills Etc
I am currently enjoying my programme a lot, it allows me to experience different areas of plant, making more enjoyable as I see new things everyday.
It is well structured, we have a two year training plan we complete and then for the final two years we start progressing towards our final position.
In my role I have a mentor, I receive a very good amount of support from him when I need it and also if needed I can ask my apprentice manager for support.
Again I have a mentor who will help me with any qualifications I need or point me in the correct direction of someone who can help if I need it.
I feel that it helps a lot. Some of the modules are very relevant to what we carry out day to day in my role.
There are multiple professional networking events that get put on that cover different topics and allow for us to network with other apprentices and graduates
Yes
As I feel this is great apprenticeship that would allow them work towards a career in a role and allow them to get on the ladder in the company to progress. It also provides you with the qualifications you need in them roles.
My main tips would be to be confident and know what you’re talking about, do not try and seem you know more than what you do as this can and will catch you out, just say you don’t know and someone will help you.
