  • Managing contractors, contracts, schedules, interfaces, teams, designers etc. Working with various teams to ensure activities are completed and allow the project to progress.

  • I have developed the following skills: - Communication - Leadership - Management - Coordination - Working under pressure Etc.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy it, it is perfectly aligned to my job role (Assistant Project Manager), for which I work on a construction project. I am learning a lot on the job and through my course so I can't fault it. My university is very well organised which helps a lot.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very, my university has a lot of experience and they have many initiatives, ways of working, support channels etc. in place to help make everything easier.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A huge amount, I could not ask for more support. If I need more time on my uni course I will get it, if I need to work flexibly I can, if I need to get exposed to new areas of work I will work on a new project.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A huge amount, I have regular check ins with my uni, my tutors have a great team and are always on hand to help.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • A huge amount, I am much more knowledgeable now in terms of construction and management, which has enabled me to excel in the project work I am involved with.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are get togethers with other apprentices, channels to speak to others in, initiatives across the projects I work on etc.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a great place to work, they value their staff highly, they are very flexible, they work on great projects, there is a lot of trust across the firm, there is a lot to learn both internally and externally and it is great


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arup?
  • Do your research, go for a job you are interested in, you cannot beat being enthusiastic. Be yourself, don't stress and give it your all.
