  • I have improved my programming skills and learnt to work as part of a team. I have also learnt about the software development lifecycle and how to work efficiently.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the apprenticeship, the work and university modules align to my interests and I find the projects I am involved in interesting. The team I am in are very supportive and keep to help me improve my skills while working on things I enjoy.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The university is well organized and all the modules that take place over the 4 years are available to view online. As an apprentice we are also assigned mentors and team buddies to help us get started.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager and HR are both very supportive and always able to guide me if I am unsure with any topic. The mentor I was assigned is also very friendly and has helped me throughout the program so far.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • During term time we have 2 days of university per week with many labs and lectures designed to practice and reinforce our learning. The university also provides us with revision help and practice exams.

  • Very, the university modules are relevant to the role of my work and I have been able to apply the concepts learnt at University in a practical scenario.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Initially there was a lot available however COVID-19 has restricted what is possible. All of the sports clubs still exist and intend to resume as restrictions are lifted. At work there are many networking and training opportunities available.

  • Yes

  • The degree offered with the program is relevant to the industry and the company is great to work for.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Goldman Sachs?
  • The interviews are accommodating to the fact that not every school offers the opportunity to study Computer Science due to facilities available however you should do your own research around the basics of CS theory and algorithms to show your interest in the subject.
