  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Being from a customer service background, I feel that this has improved my communication skills even further and I feel that I can still improve on this. The main skill that I have now learnt as a result of this apprenticeship program would be effectively managing my time and using my energy to the best of my ability.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy a fresh new challenge, and even when I am stuck or unsure on a certain task, there is always someone to ask to give you the help you need. This is very reassuring as a new starter and it helps me to not be shy and speak up when I have an issue.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The induction was very well run, considering that due to COVID, this was the first fully online induction Marsh had ran. It went very well and the introduction to my colleagues was also well structured as I had seperate sessions with all of them around different topics so I could meet them one-to-one.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As I mentioned previously, everyone I have come into contact at Marsh has been very welcoming and easy to speak too. Everyone has said that if I had any problems, issues or queries that I shouldn't be afraid to speak up and ask about these problems that I may be having.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have monthly one-to-one meetings with my coach, speaking about how the course is going and also how well my revision for my upcoming exams are going. This is great for me because I can review my own performance and any problems I have with my learning can be dealt with.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I would say this helps me to perform better as I have a long-term goal to work towards, and something that, if i were to complete it, I would be proud of. The fact that every day I am working towards this goal is enough motivation for me to succeed.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are so many extra-curricular activites that Marsh offer, with loads of social activites with the young professionals group for example. There is also lots of groups for many different cultures and sexualities. There are also support groups for mental health, which is really important in this day and age.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Marsh McLennan to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The culture around the company is great, they are very supportive as a new joiner to the company. Everyone I have come across has been very nice, supportive and welcoming. Their apprenticeship program has a great, clear structure to it which makes it extremely reassuring and helps you to understand it from the start.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Marsh McLennan?
  • DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS. If you want to work for a company such as Marsh, communication is so key. If you don't ask, you will end up struggling on something that could've been resolved through a 1 minute zoom call, so my advice would be not to be shy.
