  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I have a mixture of off the job studying and training towards professional qualifications, help and assist my team with tasks that I have been trained to carry out and get constant exposure to the insurance market and the processes that we carry out.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have so far heavily developed my language and communication skills as they have become key skills for my day to day role. IT skills have also improved dramatically as the industry as a whole is starting to come more into the digital age so these skills are key for being able to evolve and keep up with the times.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I absolutley LOVE my programme. There is always support available and from multiple source such as: Mentors, Line managers, Team Managers, Early careers team and also from my colleagues so if you ever feel lost or unsure you can always get the help you need. Also I love being sociable and dealing with new and exciting things each day and this is exactly what I have experienced so far.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well structured in my experience. I stated off with 2-3 weeks of concentrated training on the insurance market and industry as a whole and allowed to clear up any misconceptions about the job and industry as well as exposing us to the resources available to us. Also there is a clear structure to allow us to persue our professional qualifications and support in place such as mentors and workshops to assist with this.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My emplpoyer has made it clear that if I have a question or query that I shouldn't feel embaressed or scared of approaching himself or another member of the team at any point. I have taken advantage of this and have found this to certainly be the case as whenever I require support of any kind I can find it.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification will allow me to have more confidence in myself and back my actions more as if I am hesitating because I think I am new or not good enough I can think back to my training and because my qualification proves that I have that knowledge, feel more comfortable and confident in my role

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is an organisation that I am now apart of called young professionals, giving us the opportunity to speak to and hear from industry professionals to allow us to expand our knowledge and understanding of the industry. I would like to think that there are more in person activities such as sports but as we are in a pandemic they wont be advertised as of yet if they are an option.
