  • I am a business support apprentice who helps deal with the daily office tasks which work with all aspects of the business from finance to HR

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have definitely learnt new skills such as using certain IT packages and handling certain situations. I have also developed existing skills such as communication with others.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme as much as a teenager can. Getting used to working 9-5 everyday was hard and still is at times but I have enjoyed it all and learning new things and meeting new people.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is organised. My assessor has constant communication with me and makes it very clear what work is due and what I need to do next. She explains how to link it to my job role.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I do receive a lot of support from my employer but they are all very busy which is understandable so having the time to talk on some occasions can be very difficult.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider contacts me a lot and expresses I can contact her at anytime if needs be. Every time we have a call she asks how I am getting on and if I have any concerns.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • When completing the work sheets and other apprenticeship tasks it helps me link them to my job role and helps me figure out what I need to develop myself on etc...

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are a few social activities that happen in and out of the work place that I take part in. I think it is important to take part in these so I good relationship is built because it is important with the people you work with.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I think the company I work for provides a range of areas you can get involved in. The company is very busy constantly so there is always something you can be helping with.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to ISWP?
  • I would say to be prepared for the workload to be very unpredictable. Due to it being very busy there can be things that colleagues want you to quickly jump on and help with last minute.
