  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I manage IT-related Projects delivery services to our customers. A Project Manager demonstrates being able to manage a project within the agreed budget, schedule, and quality. Managing resources and stakeholders is a key part of my day-to-day role ensuring my team has what they need and when they need it.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Professionalism is a key skill you develop through on-the-job business experience. General time management is developed to understand balancing priorities and high workloads. Apprenticeships at Atos provide you with a great sense of responsibility and accountability which teaches you to learn quickly. Learning from mistakes is key in this industry to better yourself and the chances of success

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I cannot speak highly enough of the programme. The foundations that are laid by Atos are remarkable, they provide young talented, and ambitious individuals with the opportunity to make a real difference not only within their job role but, within the wider organisation. The programme of course provides challenges in its own right, but help is always available whether from others on the programme or Atos colleagues to make the journey 100% benefical.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • From the time I applied to the Programme & had been through all the relevant stages of the interview, the structure and communications throughout all stages were brilliant. Atos provides mentors to apprentices who have been on the programme themselves previously to provide first-hand insight and support any questions which we had (& of course they had at the same time when they started!). There is an equal balance between working-working (ie. your day job) & your apprenticeship assignments (completed in allocated 20% Off-the-job) which is managed by you as an apprentice yourself.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Atos have been incredible at providing support. My colleagues are brilliant as they are understanding and in a way where they have been in a similar position before starting their own career and understand the support/questions/concerns that come at this stage. The support provided is not only available at Junior/Less senior positions but, often Head of, SVPs (Senior Vice President) even take time out of their busy days to provide support. One key thing with Atos I have found, if one person cannot help you with the answer you are looking for, they always do their up-most best to point you in the direction of someone who can. As much as to us, we may feel we are nagging someone to support us: it is one way as apprentices we can learn from others experiences and guidance. Therefore, do not be limited to other people, use different resources like the internet.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • QA are very helpful. They provide a skills coach and Tutor who both ultimately help you with the knowledge aspect of the programme. For me, I had an unfortunate event where I had 4 different skills coaches in the space of my 18 Apprenticeships, but the final coach I had was great. Again, a key lesson is to lean on the support you have to find the answers you need. But, remember you are not limited to just them, you have others on the program, previous Apprentices who can provide some guidance on what they did - all the resources around you can prepare/support you to achieve the best possible outcome of the program.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Put simple - It provides the required knowledge that I did not have 21 months ago (before I started my career!). The knowledge allows for you to practice within your role the theory you have learned. For me, it allowed me to challenge the methodologies and processes Atos have and make reasonable suggestions to improve on them.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Atos provides a whole host of different extra circular events and the list quite frankly goes on. This includes things such as: - Together Network - Diversity and Inclusion Network - Pitch Club - Regular Social events (covid committing) - Stemnet - And many more! These are available all around the country to all Atos employees. As an employee, you even have the opportunity to come up with your own initiative, present a business case and implement your initiative!

  • Yes

  • All the reasons highlighted in my previous response highlight the key offerings and opportunities Atos has to a highly motivated, ambitious, and talented individual.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Atos?
  • - Take pride and time in your application, think about what is your USP and why Atos would be good for you, and why your employment to Atos would be good for Atos - Be prepared to be pushed out of your comfort zone with video Interviews - If you are not getting answers during your application, do not be afraid to ask (appreciating Atos receive a high volume of applications) - Take time to look on LinkedIn for previous apprentices (including myself, Kyle Edwards), They/We can offer a lot of support during the application process - Expect the application process to take time, remember the process has to be difficult to ensure Atos are employing who they see fits their vision and values best!
