  • Getting experience working on Aircraft in the workplace. Mixture of servicing work, defect rectification and casualty work. Daily work can also include doing NVQ work or CAA A-License modules.

  • Yes. Working on aircraft has taught me lots of different hand skills (metal work, electrical work, hydraulic work skills, fuel system work skills and engine work system skills) as well as the theory to back it up.

  • I am enjoying my apprenticeship program, as it allows me to learn and develop new skills whilst getting paid.

  • My program is fairly well structured, however events following the COVID-19 pandemic has caused some issues, however the company any has done a lot to resolve these.

  • The employer offers a lot of support. From Welfare calls to one to one meetings.

  • Training provider offers a lot of support in much the same as the company.

  • It reinforces the work skills needed to perform well in the wider work area.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are some activities that have come up, however due to the pandemic this has become less prevalent.

  • Yes

  • It offers good training, and good on the job experience, all while being paid a good salary.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
  • Make sure you have a interest in aircraft maintenance, and you are hardworking.
