  • My role is to support in project management in investigating business improvements, increasing efficiency and effectiveness of the way we work as an organisation. On a day-to-day basis, I review the way project reports are handled and how the governance for a project should adapt to the way the project is delivered.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The new skills that I have developed are investigation skills on how to collect information and data to expand on the rationale behind any new change in the organisation. I felt I have gained further confidence in presenting information and the way I handle and plan stakeholder engagement during a project.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed my programme due to the ability to attend classroom learning sessions at the training centre, despite the pandemic affecting the initial dates scheduled in March - June 2020. The training sessions supported the way I learn. The learning content provided for the programme was sufficient and useful to expand my learning and knowledge. Putting this into project portfolios really helps understand what and why your are providing in the project.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • With the Pandemic hitting the UK in 2020, it put delays on my learning for my apprenticeship. However, my programme was adapted to fit the duration of the training programme and was organised to support my learning style that allowed me to get the full engagement and learning out of the apprenticeship.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support from my employer was sufficient, despite changes happening in my organisation. I received encouragement and support with my off-the-job learning, joining various projects happening across the organisation to learn different aspects for different type of projects being delivered in a business analysis world. Having the flexibility to join various pieces of work supported the delivery of my portfolio.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider was always on hand to support any issues that rose during my programme. Information to support with off-the-job hours and project portfolio delivery, really helped when completing these tasks. My training provider also provided me with essential skills material to expand my learning and knowledge in Maths and English.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification has allowed me to take different approaches to different scenarios. • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At my organisation, we offer plenty of learning and engagement activities to support continued professional development for staff. This could be from e-learning modules to attending course to support our roles and responsibilities in the work place. They also provide network events for the organisation to come together once a year to discuss aims and objectives.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Firebrand to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Firebrand training Limited for the way they deliver their programme. Having classroom sessions makes you learn in a more interactive environment instead over a screen. Having the training centre environment allows a learner to be in the right mindset to fully absorb knowledge and experiences. Their programmes come with plenty of learning platforms and materials to help achieve your goal.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Firebrand?
  • The advice I would give to those applying for a Firebrand Training programme would be, to understand the intensity of programme can require plenty of time committed to the course and to handle pressures of the amount of learning and evidence should be anticipated. Also, always have strong engagement with your organisation that they can provide support in helping you develop your skills for the purpose to the organisation.
