  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • I'm training to become a LGV driver, I also learn how to safely deliver goods to the store, how to correctly and safely load a lorry and, of course, how to safely travel on the road. And I got to know many logistic operations performed in the warehouse a well.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I think it is a very good idea to gain professional experience in this way. My tutors are very patient and helpful, I can always contact them if I don't understand anything or need any help. I have also been assigned a buddy driver from whom I have learned a lot and I hope to teach you a lot more

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • In my opinion, the transport department in my company is very well organized. Every day they have to plan routes for many drivers and face problems such as closed roads, detours and all kinds of road difficulties. At the same time, you can always ask for a change of your schedule if you need it and can plan it well so that drivers are happy and deliveries are made on time

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • Aldi is a good company to work with, I personally have been working here for almost 5 years and the transport department is my 3rd department where I work here and I think this is one of the better jobs I have worked for and I would happily recommend this company to my friends to take up a job

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • As I already mentioned, transport is the 3rd department in Aldi for which I work, so as soon as I heard about recruitment for last year's apprenticeship programme , I decided to take up this challenge and I managed to qualify and I am convinced that it was a very good decision

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • Yes, I have a normal hourly rate and from what I have heard it is one of the largest possible rates available in this type of program. And that's not all, because all my costs that I have to incur, for example, sending a driving license to DVLA or fuel costs for commuting to a driving school are returned to me, so in fact all qualifications I get are completely free and I still get a normal salary.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • There are so many opportunities to meet and talk to colleagues. Depending on which shift you work for, you always meet many people with whom you can exchange information or observations on various topics. Our warehouse employs a lot of people, so there is no problem with such things at all.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • As I mentioned earlier Aldi is a very good company to work with, they have quite good rates and there are many different shifts at different times so I think that everyone will find something suitable for themselves. of course, I would not force anyone to take up a job here, but I am happy with this job, otherwise I would not have been working in this company for almost 5 years

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • I think that everyone we want to work here should be simply a general and hard-working man, because working in a warehouse or as a truck driver is hard work but it can also be pleasant if you have the right approach. I think that the entire recruitment process is quite clear and you just have to show that you are a good employee and, above all, that you want to take such a job
