  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I have to process client requests including generating statements of their accounts as well as making the adjustments so that their account and account details can be updated as required. I also perform checks on new clients by running name searches on them.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt lots of new skills and am also developing existing skills all of the time. Its a job where although tasks may be the same, no day is ever the same with different client requests and various tasks to be completed on a random basis.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love the apprenticeship programme. It would definitely be an amazing one that I'd recommend to lots of people. They provide training, learning and support as well as on the job experience!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very organised and structured as they help and guide you all the way through. There are clear stages that you go through whilst both being on the job and studying at the same time. It really prepares you for the working world.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support from my employer which is another reason why I love working here so much! All of the way from my employer having an on site GP and Dentist which saves a lot of time and help, there are lots of benefits that we get (we can pick and chose upto a certain limit) such as private medical insurance, dental insurance, phone cover, life insurance, etc.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive help from my training provider. We have workshops for the course we are studying and they come into the office to hold study day sessions which is really useful. They also provide study slidepacks for us to take home and revise from as well as the online site where we can access all sorts of study materials.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification does help to perform better within my role as it is on important things that you would see from your day to day role as opposed to when at school and learning things you know you will never again think about or use.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of clubs and committees that are there to join through UBS - I am a part of the baking club, and the knitting club, there is a veterans network, diversity & cultural awareness network and many many more things that you can volunteer and take part in. I believe there are also sports clubs too, alongside the gym we have within the building for fitness.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Its a lovely place to work. There really is a sense of one massive family there. We all share similar values and strive for the business to be a success. We are grateful for the things that we are privileged to have access to.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • Put in 100% effort and take in / soak up as much as you possibly can. Ensure to network and make your network a well connected place, even if only for the future. Take advantage of all opportunities - this includes social work events as well as speaker sessions / talks.
