  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am responsible for amending customers motor policies. For example if they want to change their car or add a driver mid term then i adjust the policy accordingly. This means that you wait for a call to come through and then make the changes at their request.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have gained a lot of confidence in speaking to people and it has made me more aware of how to approach certain customers and adapting to their needs and wants. I am learning about the structure of the insurance industry and what goes into the business.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The job its-self is very repetitive and difficult with constantly being at home. The recognition from customers and other colleagues when providing good service is nice. The apprenticeship has been okay but with multiple changes randomly occurring and changing the procedures half way through has made things harder to grasp.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has been quite a roller coaster. Starting off with one way to complete tasks then being told half way through we have to learn a new way and adapt to it. We have however been given access to very good revision tools so that makes it easier.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I actually receive a lot of support from my employer with a variety of things, the job role itself they are always willing to help with a query and also with the training programme. If we ever have any issues we can be assured they will get it looked at.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support from the trainer is good, we are made aware if we have any issues then we can contact them for help. They have also provided us with a very good tool for revision which makes everything a lot easier to understand.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • What i learn on my apprenticeship does sometimes help in my role. It allows me to understand more about the company and answer questions with more certainty. I feel like i know more about how the company operates and what goes into it all which helps to explain things to customers.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have a community page for our day to day lives where we can join a group with common interest. Other than that i dont think so.
