  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Fit tyres consistently even tho I was supposed to be taught many more things which I ended up teaching myself, stock take in and putting away, vehicle inspections cleaning every other hour, no room to invest time into yourself and to learn openly without being stopped to change tyres every second.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I learnt skills on my own at this centre I was only allowed to fit tyres that’s literally it nothing else. I taught myself how to do tracking/alignment, brakes, exhausts with the help of one other employee who has also left due to the poor condition of this centre.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed it when the main manager wasn’t there because he was the reason my learning was being put to a hold making me work consistently sometimes even without a breaks or lunch and he does it to the rest of the employees too whereas the assistant manager would help me teach me when he can gives everyone their lunch and breaks.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It’s structured very well with a well organised training centre that you have to attend once every couple months for a week with full pay. The training centre is where you learn most of what you have to apply but out of the training centre is you basically learning on your own.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support from my manager absolutely nothing he cared about himself reaching targets and just getting money that’s all. Support from assistant manager very well he would help me whenever I was stuck he helped me get through the rough days he helped me fix my mistakes which the manager would have just had a go about how much the mistake would have cost and moan about it for the rest of the time of you working there. Support from the rest of the staff some can be helpful some can be irritating and careless.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Like I said before the training centre was very good and very productive, when i was in need of help due to a situation that happened in the centre my Assesor was in hospital my operation manger was on holiday and the training staff where the only ones who could help me at the time so I appreciated them and their teaching.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I didn’t get the qualifications because I was way behind because my manager wouldn’t let me progress and I was way far behind on my work and he told me fix it myself

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not that I am aware of I don’t think kwikfit does anything like this the only thing social about kwikfit is the whats app groupchats where your whole centre is added into and discuss the targets daily and hitting margins it’s either talking about that or things that’s don’t even relate to work.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Kwik-Fit to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • Very poor management manager was appalling operations manager would pick the manager over you due to the managers history with the company other managers of other centres would rather side with the manager than you just because they need in the company a lot longer than you

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Kwik-Fit?
  • My advice to anyone who’s joining or thinking to join kwikfit is to not be too scared about anything ask many questions if you feel like you need help then ask for it after all your an apprentice so your still learning if the manager tells you to do something your not comfortable with you can refuse don’t be scared just because he’s your manager you can contact your Assesor and ask for advice on what to do and if you are thinking to join please do check the reviews for the centre you are joining ask the manager how the environment is before hand and if help is given when needed
