  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed a lot of new skills, including communication skills (both writing and speaking), presentation skills, team working and the ability to work under tight deadline. I have also become more detailed-orientated and I also got much better at multitasking. Of course, I expanded my accounting knowledge as well.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The particular programme that I am on right now is not very structured which gives me an opportunity to shape it the way that works for me and my career, however I know that there are more structured programmes across the entire RSM such as audit and finance for example.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer - I get plenty of opportunities to shadow various parts of the business and take part in client meetings and more. All managers i worked with are very supportive during exam periods as well and they offer extra days off if needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • BPP have been a great training provider all the way from the beginning of my apprenteship. We have regular progress calls and teachers also offer help outside of their normal working hours. Sometimes they can be a bit slow at responding, however when they do, they are being extremely helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification underpins everything that i am doing in my role. It gives me a very good in depth understanding of accounting and financial principles which helps to perform better and have good understanding of client's data. It also expands my network which is very helpful especially during covid.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Absolutely! There are plenty of extra-curricular activities in RSM. Anyone can become a trained first aider, take part in the CSR committee or help with organising volunteering events and much more. Management is usually very supportive of these sort of activities and they help to get connected with right people.

  • 9a. Would you recommend RSM to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend RSM because it is a great company with flexible working hours and a good culture. I have enjoyed my time with RSM and i liked how everyone can shape their career and expand their knowledge while working for this firm. I think it is a great company.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSM?
  • I would advise understanding what it exactly you are looking from your apprenticeship and from your employer and only then making a chose of what company you want to apply for. There are many companies that offer much larger schemes, however they wont be as flexible as RSM, for example.
