  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a TUI aircraft engineer apprentice is to learn basics about how an aircraft works and how to perform maintenance skills needed in the industry for aircraft maintenance. I attend college to learn theory and some hand practical skills which are needed to be used regularly during work being completed. I then use these skills to complete tasks within the workplace and also learn new skills at the same time.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a variety of new skills at both college and within the workplace. I have developed my skills further and have improved these skills mostly in the workplace where I can learn to complete the skills on the aircraft and components of the aircraft. These skills need to be at a high standard as these are key skills which are to be regularly used.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many extra curricular activities which I can get involved in at my workplace. An example of an activity is that apprentices were offered to go away to the Lake District to help gain leadership and team involvement which are used within the workplace. This activity would allow us to gain skills and learn how to work well in a team with a variety of activities which a good team is needed to complete the task.
