  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As I am a new starter, I am currently training within the role I am going to undertake. This includes invoicing and other crucial financial responsibilities I will take on. When I am not training, I am making myself guidance powerpoints in order to completely grasp my role. This allows me to use it as a self reflection

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • From a university point of view, I have learnt many new skills which I have fortunately been able to take away. Within my first few weeks of starting Capgemini I dived into an intense Computer Science course where I learnt the basics of 3 different programming languages. Within the working scene, I have developed my confidence when speaking in front of an audience along with simple day to day tasks like how to professionally lay out an email.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Although at first I was slightly skeptical with the program as I was a beginner in Computer Science and had a vision I was going to fall majorly behind, the working environment is amazing and would never let this happen. Admittedly, going through training in a full time role as well as working full time can sometimes be a challenge, I have many supportive people to ensure I am on the right tracks.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Amazing ! We was given a timetable when we started back in November 2020 of how the 4.5 years would look including topics and modules. It started with ALE which was a 8 week intense computer science coursr and has flowed chronologically into the hardware and software of a computer. Our course then splits into 2 where you can choose to go down a business or computing route for the remainder of the degree. We have live lectures fortnightly and are set work every Monday.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We have fortnightly catch up meetings with our manager and monthly catch up meetings with our apprentice manager. That being said, any concerns they are both very approachable and are contactable at any time. Within these meetings we get to discuss how our 2 weeks / months experience has been and if we have anything to flag they point us in a direction of how to get this resolved.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • For one module, I have monthly calls to ensure I understand exactly what is going on and further research I may need to undertake. Within this session we actively discuss what I need to strive towards until my next submission. He explains things I do not quite understand and pushes me to my highest standard.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Currently, my role and my training does not directly reflect one another. We have to write monthly journals for the university where I am able to express my strengths and weaknesses. This allows me to go over what I am currently doing in my role and what I would do to improve. It is a time for self reflection in order to improve.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Due to the currently circumstance unfortunately this is not possible. However, there is lunch and learn events and small talk before meetings which allows for a bit of socialisation. As I started in the pandemic, they are trying to get everyone together to meet up in real life when it is possible.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • To name a few, it has a very friendly nature as everyone is so welcoming. If you are unsure on any task there is always someone to ask. Leading on from this, there is a lot of room to progress. To me this is very important and there is many different opportunities you can gain from one company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • I feel like you do have to have an interest in the business and IT industry. It is a very different to any normal working world and it is important that you want to see self progression as this is something that happens all over the business. Also, there is many opportunities for a change in role so if you are interested in trying out a few new things over the years, this is for you
