  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Providing people support for various areas of the business. Partnering with leaders to develop and implement their people plans. Lead people projects, for example identifying and supporting talent, liasing with external providers. Point of contact for people requests and queries, connecting the business with HR experts in the Centres of Competence.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The wide range of areas I have had the opportunity to support has given me fantastic opportunities to learn on the job. For example, I have provided HR partnering support for colleagues in the field, operational business and support functions. Wide range of learnign resources available online as well as apprenticeships.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It has been great to meet people doing similar roles in very different organisations. Interesting to visit other companies and experience different cultures and approaches. Opportunity to ask for different view points and ideas. My lead trainer is very inspiring and supportive. The programme has taken significant time commitment and support.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The online platform has continued to improve and provides great structure. My lead trainer is always happy to explain what is needed and best approaches. The programme has required significant time committment. Useful guides provided for each assessment and help always available. Support to complete the various forms and requirements easy to access.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager has been very supportive. It has been great to join the programme with other colleagues so we can share lessons learnt and experiences. Colleagues have been very helpful when I have sought ideas and support for assignments and projects. My role gives me lots of opportunities to learn.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My lead trainer has been fantastic and very assessible. The other people I have interacted with at the training provider have also been very helpful in explaining what is needed and offering support. The online platform continues to improve. Lots of guides available to help with assignments, forms and projects.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification has given me stronger foundations for performing my role. I think it also gives confidence to those I support. The wider range of topics covered gives me the opportunities to think and see new ideas, opportunities and risks. My qualification has also openned my eyes to the wider range of career opportunities.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am involved in our new people development networks and will be more active in professional networks once I have completed my apprenticeship. I have supported customer forums and immersion activites which I have really enjoyed as a great opportunity to hear directly from customers and also meet with colleagues from other areas.
