  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As part of the apprentice I am constantly moving around different areas so it's hard to pinpoint a regularly day. The benefit of doing this means I am using my time in the scheme gaining a wide range of experience.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The whole programme is oriented around developing skills due to Santander having an emphasis on this as well as the programme itself. You develop a great understanding of the financial industry both financial crime and non financial crime.

  • The programme has been incredible. Santander really values its apprentices and sees futures for everyone in the company and therefore ensures you develop as a great professinal.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised from work and study. Being apart of a cohort and a team means your time is being organised by two sets of people. The apprentice side is well organised by those involved with that and then the matters of Santander are dealt with and organised by the team.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

  • BPP give good support, I think it has the right balance as I have regular calls with my coach and if I need help I can reach out for that support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think Santander has chosen the right qualifications for this programme as the ICA qualification provides that subject knowledge about financial crime while BPP also does this to an extent it also helps me develop as a professional.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is plenty of extra-curricular activities to get involved in with a range that anyone can find something. Ashwell as this it isn't forced upon you so you can do as much or as little as you want which i think is good.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Santander to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • This scheme is everything I could've wanted and I don't think 50 words could do it justice but i think the most important thing is the culture within Santander provides the right environment for an apprentice.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Santander?
  • Showcase why you are a better candidate than others. Be prepared and be confident.
