  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed many of the skills that I learnt at A-Level specifically in my Business Studies course and it has been really good to see how this applied in the 'real world'. I have also developed many other skills which I hope to develop even further throughout the course of my apprenticeship.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme that I am on as I feel that I am experiencing the 'real world' of business at the same time as gaining a degree something that I would not have necessarily had if I had just gone down the traditional route of university. I also feel that I am supported in work and that what I have learnt as university I can see being applied in the work place.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say that my programme is really well structured we had a really thorough induction to the company which was spread out over a week, I found this really useful as it meant that we were not just bombarded with all the information in one day we were actually given the time to digest the information and ask any questions that we had. In terms of now that the programme if underway I feel supported and have various mentors in place to help me should I have any questions.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of support from my employer whether that be finding someone to discuss what I have learnt at university with who specialises in that area. There are also regular meetings that are in place for me to raise any issues that I have. For me it is also important to mention that CGI really recognise that you have the degree to balance alongside the job.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • In terms of my training provided Winchester University I feel that I get a vast amount of support. Despite being degree apprentices we still have the same level of support available to us as a normally student who attends 5 days a week, the amount of support especially from the study skills department is something that I have found really good. Module tutors are also helpful when you have specific questions relating to modules.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my qualification runs well alongside my role at work. I have on several occasions seen what I have learnt at university applied in the workplace which is something that has enables me to learn further. Being on a course stream that applies to my role is definitely a huge plus.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many extra curricular activities that you are able to get involved with in the workplace. However due to the covid-19 pandemic and starting my role in the mist of the pandemic this is not something that I have been able to fully engage with yet however I look forward to doing so in the future.

  • 9a. Would you recommend CGI to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend CGI to a friend as I believe it is a really great company to work for as they recognise that you have you degree that you are working towards in addition to you day to day work. There are also so many different opportunities within the company and extra aspects that you can take part in I feel it is a great place to begin you career.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CGI?
  • The main piece of advise that I would give to someone applying to CGI is just to be yourself as it will enable you to demonstrate you full potential. Additionally for any candidates I would say don't be afraid to ask questions whether that be about what you would be doing or about the course itself.
