  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently my day to day role involves working for a client. At the moment I sit within the planning team for the project and I am responsible for producing, updating and reporting a schedule.

  • Yes, I have learnt many new skills since starting with Mace. Mace offers training throughout your apprenticeship where you are able to work on new skills and also developing existing skill, for example presenting and then also more technical skills relating to your role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme that I am currently doing.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The Emerging Talent team at Mace are very organised and have a well structured plan for all the apprentices. You receive a spreadsheet of all your training for the year at the start of each year and if any other training comes up this is communicated.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from Mace through my line manager, mentor, buddy and other Mace colleagues.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider offers a good level of support to the apprentices that do my qualification. I have regular 1-1 sessions to go over my portfolio and all exam preparation is dealt with well.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The knowledge that I learn through my training provider directly relates to my day to day role on the project.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, a lot of projects at Mace offer activities to the teams. This is also a good opportunity to get to know other contractors if you are involved with activities on your project.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • My experience with Mace and my training provider has been extremely positive. It has been a great environment for me to learn and to apply any knowledge I have learnt. The training provided by Mace is great and gives you a good insight into the business and the construction industry.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mace?
  • Mace offer a lot of different apprenticeships so make sure you do your research and find the one that's best for you.
