  • My role as a Design Engineering Apprentice involves working on different schemes, producing a number of different documents for those schemes and working on drawings throughout different phases of the project. Day-to-day activities usually include having daily meetings via Teams, liaising with the team about what tasks need completing for the day and emailing colleagues throughout the business.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Kier Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Kier is a great place to work, as all the team are friendly, helpful and all enjoy meeting up sociably outside of work to take part in different activities. The work at Kier is enjoyable, you are always learning something new, no day is the same. You also get to take part in training courses that Kier provide to help you learn new skills like CAD training etc.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Kier Group?
  • Be truthful when applying for the role, try and remain calm if you get invited to an interview and as long as you are a sociable person willing to learn new skills, organised, willing to work hard to gain qualifications in the industry you will fit in fine.
