  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Business analysis involves for lack of a better explanation working with stakeholders (often within the business outside of tech services) to understand and gauge their requirements. For my role it generally relates to requirements for technology/software aswell as lots of analysis. I also document and create a lot of processes.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, prior to moving to my higher Apprenticeship as a Business Analyst although I had IT knowledge I had no diploma/qualifications relating to IT. After completing my Apprenticeship I now have a Level 4 Diploma in Business Analysis provided by the BCS. I also now have a full time job/contract as a BA within DLG

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Very much, it was a great opportunity and the work it's self was enjoyable to me. (I'm very logical and enjoy understanding and solving problems which is my Analysis is a good fit for me).   • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel this is quite a broad question. If you mean in terms of my allocated learning/study time in DLG I always found I had an abundance of time to complete my required apprentice work. If you are talking about QA and how the courses were structured/laid out thought the year then those were also structured in a logical manner.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am a member of the social committee in the area I work in and as part of that I help organise social events.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Direct Line to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because it's a great place to work. I started on front line motor insurance in 2016 and since then I have networked my way into a job that I enjoy in the technology side of the business.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Direct Line?
  • Don't be afraid of applying. You miss all opportunities you don't take :)
