  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as a Mortgage Advisor, so this involves talking to customers on a daily basis to take them through a mortgage application. This may be from customers calling in, or from callbacks I have booked for customers. I also track any application I've done to ensure that it is on track and that the customer is aware of any information they need to send in to help the application.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Before I could take the role, I had to pass my CeMap exams to enable me to give advice to customers regards their mortgages.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme, I get on well with the team that I work in. I enjoy the role that I am in and the extra types of work I am able to take on where possible.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Lloyds Banking Group?
  • I feel quite valued by Lloyds Banking Group, they've put me through my CeMap exams. We have recognition from the company each month if we've done something well. This can take the form of gift vouchers or having what we've done detailed in a email that is sent out to the department.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel it is well organised and that I am able to have an effect on how I want to progress throughout the programme.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I get given a lot of support from my training provider, I have monthly meetings with my assessor and I can email her at anypoint if I need any further help or if I have any queries. This helps to make it a lot easier to deal with the apprenticeship programme.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get time off the phone to meet with my assessor and also have monthly meetings with my Team Manager where I can discuss what has been going on with my apprenticeship and get feedback.

  • My salary easily exceeds my costs.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • We have Day to Make a Difference activities we can do, but other than that there isn't much that I can outside of work.

  • Yes

  • I feel it's a good company to work for, and that there is a lot of progression within the buisness possible.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
  • When applying within Lloyds Banking Group it is best to practice on using the STAR method of interviewing as this is how the questions will be laid out.
