  • Working on the operations for the MQ product. Providing test infrastructure support and development to allow the MQ team to effectively develop and test their code.

  • I have learnt many new skills. Countless programming languages and general applications of my skills to a professional standard.

  • I love learning and gaining experience in the field that I am working in. It has really allowed me to showcase myself as more of an expert everyday.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure is very well organised and communication is top-notch. There are never any scenarios of which I wouldn't know who to contact if I were in a situation.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support I receive is great! I have a plethora of contacts I can go to for support on any issue within any field.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider did not provide as much support, it was a fast-track apprenticeship and this would be why.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my qualification has quite outdated content at no fault of IBM or the training provider. I believe the standards for the qualification would do with some updating.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many extra-curricular activities I have gotten involved in at IBM. Many of which are giveback events where I assist others in activities or hosting events. I also play football during lunch with other members of IBM.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • IBM is a great place to learn and build valuable skills that see you throughout life. It is also very great for your CV as IBM is a reputable place to work at. The skills learnt here have helped me massively grow as a person and as an expert in the industry.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
  • Keep an open mind. You may not know what path you want to explore until a couple years in. Be sure to raise any concerns the moment you have them and you will receive a quick response.
