I fit and install furniture into military deployable unit. this is part of a production line. i have leant many stages which include lino flooring and cable trunking.
Laying Lino was a new skill I learnt. This was hard to get the hang of when trying to get the right thickness of glue and making sure it was neat and tidy.
I really enjoy working here, everyday there is something different to solve and new opportunities.
There are plans for where I am meant to be but if there is work that needs doing then i may get stuck on a job for long periods of time because no one else will want to do it.
There is a fair amount of support if I needs it. there is always someone that can help me when needed.
I get a lot of support with my training and get plenty of feed back on my work for where I have to improve it.
I learn new skills in the classroom which help me be more efficient in the work shop. For example measuring skills has helped me a lot.
No but its been hard through out the current climate. (Covid -19)
Yes
Its a great company with lots of benefits. the work is good and consistent and it pays well and I have learnt a lot so far.
Have some understanding and skill before you start so that you can work your way to better jobs and be more independent faster.
