  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the Data Management department whereby I help manage our companies data by making it FAIR and easy to use. It involves a lot of analysing and looking through different data sets which I find interesting. You also help with stakeholders and projects and guide them towards better practice when working in the business environment.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes lots. I have learnt how to speak to stakeholders formally and in a well mannered and effective way. My presentation skills have increased as well as my ability to talk to new people confidently. I know how to analyse data properly and use my business analysis skills to effectively get information out of people so that the project can be successful.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my program a lot because it allows me to enhance my existing skills as well as create many new ones which I never knew I could do. Although it has all been online it has still been a positive experience being able to interact with the trainers on both a group and individual level.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say in the beginning I felt as of there wasn't much structure except for the monthly training I had to attend. Recently this has changed though and I am starting to interact more with the technical lead and my supervisor who I find have helped me immensely.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive tons of support. Roche has been incredible and continues to amaze me every day. The support that I have from my Line Manager is amazing and I am really lucky to have such a communicative and well balanced team. I feel comfortable to try my best and feel as if they understand that I am learning in the process through my apprenticeship.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive support in terms of training every month and during that training there it a lot of support from the trainers in wanting to help us understand the work. They are always open to help which is great. When I'm not training I don't feel as encouraged to reach out but my Line Manager helps me withy apprenticeship work too so that is maybe why.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Roche has been absolutely amazing so far. I came into this job with not much h knowledge about the industry and have grown so much in the time that I have been here because of Roche and the colleague's i work with. They have made me feel comfortable and looked after all whilst i try learn my way through working in this industry.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Roche?
  • I would tell them that they should be themselves no matter how qualified or not they think they have to be. I would say be honest and true to yourself and try your best. The company knows what it wants and won't unfairly discriminate or not be transparent with you which is something that I love about Roche.
