  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I shadow engineers to get an idea of what they do in the field. Over my time with Roche i have learnt how to carry out activities in my day to day work and continue to expand in the tasks I carry out on our products

  • I have definitely learnt more practical skills and techniques as well as developing existing knowledge. I have also built a stronger confidence in communicating with customers etc in the field.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I throughly enjoy the programme, I chose it over university and from start to present day, I have looked forward to going out learning new things in new areas.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is organised well, however the apprentices are given an opportunity for input and we use this to help make the programme even better. It is nice to have our ideas taken into consideration so highly

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Regularly have calls with my manager to discuss how things have been going, as well as receiving support from my local mentor who I often work with. Everyone in general is very keen to help and aid me with any questions/problems I have.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Any problems I have faced, I have been able to discuss with my employer, when I started it began a rocky experience however now things are fully in sight and there is a good line of communication if I have any problems.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Although it is not fully relevant to my role within the company, I feel it does aid Me in the general engineering perspective of how electrical, and mechanical aspects work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is extra curricular activities based in my works offices, however this is based in Sussex. I still have the opportunity to be involved in the cycle challenges etc however as this is country wide involvement.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Roche to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Since coming from A levels, I have been welcomed massively by everyone around Me, who help even on a personal level with any issues I may have. It is definitely a company that looks after me so I have actually recommended it to friends in the past.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Roche?
  • Provide a reason why you want to work there, have an enthusiastic perspective of why rather than just for the benefits and pay. Do your research into what they provide to the day to day person. I bet you won’t realise how many things around you are made by Roche
