My role is an apprentice engineer in the royal London hospital, my day to day work consist of following qualified engineer and learning how to rectify jobs, fault finding, and ppms certain jobs consist of electrical work such as installing new circuits, water treatment and broilers and high pressure systems etc. Everyday is something new and interesting and everyday is a learning process.
During my time at skanska I have most certainly learned and grafted in different areas such as understanding electrics how to Change ballast, inverters and socket and switches, also learned fault finding when it comes to leaks and how to fix leaks and replace, TMVs, PRVS installing water fountain toilets, and showers.
I really like my job here at skanska out of all the other places I’ve worked through out my life this site has been very intriguing, the fact of doing different things everyday always keeps the mind stimulated and and there is always a learning moment. My co- workers are are very helpful and act as a mentor through my time here.
My site is quite organised and structured there’s always a day to day of what I will do and on site we have a specific person that distributes the jobs out to the engineers, if ever caught up in a problem there is always someone to turn to do help and assistance
I get enough support to carry out my role as expected. This is mainly from my peers. There is always room for improvement
My training provider supports with every need either to do with work, college and make sure that mentally I’m okay as well
I feel that what I have learned what my qualifications consist of I have definitely grafted and and got confident with certain jobs
