  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I monitor peoples financial budgets to see whether they have met their targets or if they have overspent. I also see what gets purchased through the corporate and ICT service lines and ensure this is coded correctly.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Better attention to detail has been something that has developed since being in my new role. Also having to work more independently due to covid which was hard to adjust to at first but now is like second nature.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised, with a day release every Wednesday at Eastleigh college. They provide all the relevant study resources and the teacher is brilliant with responding to any queries I might have.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots of support. They understand that I am studying as well so don't overload me with work. Always asking how the study and exams went too which is nice.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A great deal of support. Eastleigh college are great with their resources for helping people pass the exams. Also any questions I just email my tutor and he responds back very quickly which makes the revision process a lot quicker for me.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I don't feel it directly ties back in with my day to day tasks in the role. However the basic processes like debits and credits and accruals and prepayments will always tie back within my finance role.

    8/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have coffee mornings every Tuesday and Thursday where the finance team can talk about anything that's not work related. This is nice because it is the conversations you would have been having in the office. The other thing would be the step challenge that has been reintroduced.
