  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my current role I am responsible for planning orders from the customer, liaising with different departments so that the order is on time to the customer.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Everyday and rotation I am learning new skills whether this be at university or in day to day tasks. I can see my confidence improving and also having the opportunity to present to relevant stake holders has helped me to improve.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme as there is always great support from the team I am in and manager. Teams are always welcoming and always take the time to help you out if you are ever in need of support

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well and allows us time to study at University one day a week. We rotate around the business every six months and the manager is always prepared for an apprentice when they arrive

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer, whether that be my manager for the six months or apprentice manager is always supportive and readily available to listen. We are also assigned mentors who have previously completed the apprenticeship which helps answer any queries we may have.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Even though we don't travel to University for every lecture we get support from the Uni when we need it. Lecturers are always readily available to help as well as library support staff.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I enjoy learning in a lecture on a Monday and putting it into practice on a Tuesday. It is also beneficial as we can see different managers/leaders around site using the skills we are developing.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As an apprentice you are able to get involved in volunteering, careers events and lots more. There are events happening all the time on site and also outside of working hours.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a great company to work for with lots of benefits. The teams are welcoming, managers and leaders are keen to further improve company culture.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GE Aerospace?
  • Be yourself and even though you may not have much experience use examples from school or even leading a sporting activity to help show you have skills to be an effective leader.
