  • I am a maintenance apprentice I go on jobs with the techs to carry out routine maintenance on plant.

  • Yes, I have learnt a lot of hands on skills along with improving my technical drawing understanding

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy being able to go out and carry out different types of maintenance on plant, there is always something new to learn and carry out.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • There is a very structured programme in place where all apprentices have a chance to adapt and grow in their learning and understanding of the job.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my team leader, technicians and line manager.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received a lot of support and am being put through my HNC which is a great opportunity to have.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It gives me a greater understanding when it comes to carrying out my day to day tasks on site.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have a woman networking group which allows us to discuss how we feel we area treated on site, it is a great way to talk to other women on site about their roles.

  • Yes

  • It is a great company to work for, it provides a lot of support and allows growth for anyone that would like to go the extra mile.

  • Take time to research the company, nuclear power and be enthusiastic about the job.
